My name is Jennifer Sinclair. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Over the past 12 years I have taken my hobby of taking photographs and cultivated it into a passion for photography. Growing up I always enjoyed taking pictures but it was not until I started working for The Picture People in 2000 that I grew to love photography. It was at that point that I got a better understanding of portraits, composition, behavior and posing of families, children, and even pets!
In 2005 I was hired by a local wedding photographer who just happened to be the same photographer who photographed my wedding in 2004. At that time he was looking for another assistant and the following wedding season I was hired. I helped grab whatever equipment that was needed during the wedding, posed the wedding party for portraits and helped set up and maintained the equipment during the reception. During this time the photographer taught me additional details about shutter speed, depth-of-field, composition, flash, lens, and ISO. Some of this I already knew just from visiting blogs and different websites but now I was getting hands on experience.
In 2006 I was ready to actually help take photographs during the weddings. While the main photographer spent his time in the center aisle, I found myself along the side aisles and in the balcony of the church. It was right around this time I began to get approached by family and friends to photograph their upcoming weddings. My first wedding on my own was my very good friend in September 2006. A few months later I was asked by my sister-in-law to photograph her upcoming wedding.

Jennie Sinclair Photography was born in 2010 after I was asked by our local library to help do a fundraiser. Around Easter time the Children’s Librarian wanted to give the local kids the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the library bunny, Fiona. After that event, I thought to myself, “I could do this on my own. I got this!” That year I booked myself two engagement sessions, three weddings and a communion. All the while I was pregnant with my first child. I left my position with the local wedding photographer in 2011 to spend more time with my family and to focus on getting Jennie Sinclair Photography off the ground.
I truly believe pictures are worth a thousand words and hope to fulfill that saying by photographing your next event. Now it is time to dive into my blog and experience the world through my eyes…behind the lens. Enjoy!
